Design & Build

For a unique home design, tailor-made for your section, choose our Design & Build service.

1. You bring your ideas to us (pictures, articles, floor plans or other bits of information) and we discuss some preliminary ideas together based on your budget.
   
2. We present an initial proposal with indicative costs to you, and if you like what you see then we agree to begin building your new home.  (Accurate cost estimates can't be calculated at this stage, but we can guide the project toward a plan that will be within your budget).
   
3. Together we visit your proposed house site along with our designer to make sure that your desired plans will work well on the site (e.g. taking into account sun, elevation etc).
   
4. We draw up a full concept plan for you, and present a 3D image of your house before we begin work.  This provides you with the opportunity to really see what your home will look like, and to make any changes before the first sod of earth is turned.  If there are any changes you want, now is the time to do it.  We'd rather we keep 'tweaking' things at this stage, as it may become more expensive once we've started building.
   
5. The approved plans are turned into working drawings.  These may consist of up to 20 pages, depending on the complexity of your home and the level of detail in the drawings.
   
6. Specifications (or specs) are created to identify the finishes and features that will be used in your home.  The working drawings determine the quantities of materials that will be needed and the specifications determine the quality of those materials.
